"Almost done." Fabrizio Romano reveals Chelsea are closing in on deal for World Class defender.

 Per renown Journalist  Fabrizio Romano,  Chelsea are close to reaching an agreement with defender Josh Acheampong over a new contract.  

Fabrizio Romano revealed the deal is almost done. 

 Acheampong was handed a start in Thursday's 3-1 win over Astana on Thursday evening and could become a regular starter in Maresca's conference League squad. The starlet has attracted some Premier League big names in the previous months. Aston Villa,  Tottenham,  Arsenal,  Liverpool, Newcastle and Brighton were heavily linked with Acheampong. Borussia Dortmund,  AC Milan, Marseille, Real Madrid and PSG were also mentioned as potential suitors.  

With Reece James out with hamstring injury until the new year, we could see Acheampong play regularly.  

Although Malo Gusto is the only other natural right back in the squad,  it will give Maresca another option for that position.  Chelsea fans would be excited to see him commit his future to the club.
