Manchester United and Chelsea will lock horns at Old Trafford on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in a Premier League showdown set to deliver intensity and drama.

United enter the clash on the back of a bruising 3-0 defeat to rivals Manchester City and will be eager to respond under manager Ruben Amorim, whose tenure has produced mixed results so far. Chelsea, meanwhile, travel to Manchester after a 3-1 Champions League setback against Bayern Munich but remain unbeaten in the league heading into the post-international break fixtures.

Manchester United changes: 

Ruben Amorim has rung the changes following last week’s derby defeat.

Harry Maguire and Casemiro return to the starting XI in place of Leny Yoro and Manuel Ugarte.

Summer signing Benjamin Šeško leads the line once again, while Mason Mount and Matheus Cunha have to settle for spots on the bench.

Starting XI:  Bayindir; De Ligt, Maguire, Shaw; Mazraoui, Casemiro, Fernandes (c), Dorgu; Mbeumo, Amad; Sesko

Chelsea changes: 

Enzo Maresca has also made two changes.

Wesley Fofana gets a start in the heart of Chelsea's defence, with Tosin dropping out from the side which lost to Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, Estevao Willian comes in for Malo Gusto which should see Reece James return to a full-back role.

Alejandro Garnacho is on the bench against his former club.
