Fabrizio Romano confirms star player will not play for Chelsea again after Blues' 3-1 defeat to Leeds United.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed £70M player will not play for Chelsea again even though his long-term future isn't really clear.

The Blues lost to Leeds United by a shocking 3-1 margin and one star player would no longer feature for the Blues.

Chelsea’s week has swung from confidence to concern. After a dominant 3-0 win over Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League and a controlled 1-1 draw against Arsenal, the Blues crashed to a disappointing 3-1 defeat against Leeds United—a result that exposed familiar issues in Chelsea’s attack.

The Blues struggled from kickoff to live up to their recent performances.

While many blamed the defense for the results,  the attack was sloppy, with a goal from Pedro Neto being the only goal of the game.

Fabrizio Romano confirms £70m player won't play for Chelsea again

As reported by Football FanCast, Fabrizio Romano said on his YouTube channel:

"It might be in England, Aston Villa, Bayern, of course. Let’s see what they decide to do for Jackson. There will be a lot of interest. But at the moment, what I can guarantee Aston Villa wanted him last summer.

“That’s why I mentioned Aston Villa. Unai Emery knows the player well from Villarreal. But what I want to tell you is that between Jackson and Chelsea, the story is considered over."

Jackson has a lot of potential to be one of the top strikers in Europe. But it is his finishing and disciplinary record which have let him down time after time.

Also, for some reason, he seems intent on making a move away from Chelsea. Everybody could have predicted that he would have had a tough time getting minutes at Bayern Munich, with them already having Harry Kane. And unsurprisingly, he has been a secondary option at best for the Bavarian giants.

Could Jackson have made a difference in that 3-1 defeat?”

While Jackson wasn’t always consistent, he offered:

Better movement in behind.

Physical presence in duels

Ability to create chances himself.

A lively pressing threat Chelsea lacked vs Leeds.

Who knows, Jackson could bring something different to this toothless Chelsea attack.

The way forward...

Chelsea now sit fourth in the table with their title challenge appearing increasingly unrealistic.

Away from the pitch, BlueCo are continuing their transfer strategy of signing world football's most elite young talent by the dozen.

Talks have recently been held with Red Bull Salzburg sensation Johannes Moser, but he reportedly won't be joining the likes of Geovany Quenda, Dastan Satpaev, Denner, Emmanuel Emegha and Deinner Ordonez as incoming young arrivals.

To make room for this plethora of new talent, Chelsea have some selling to do, with Nicolas Jackson poised to join 'bomb squad' members Raheem Sterling and Axel Disasi out of the door permanentl

Interestingly, Fabrizio Romano has not ruled out the possibility of Jackson making a permanent switch to Bayern. The forward could yet reopen talks with Chelsea in search of a more favourable long-term deal.
