LIVE: FIFA WORLD CUP DRAW
- The draw for the FIFA World Cup 2026 takes place today. for next year’s football tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
- The main draw is scheduled to begin at 12pm (17:00 GMT) at the John F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC, the US.
- A record 48 teams will take part in next year’s expanded edition, for which former England and Manchester United player Rio Ferdinand is conducting the draw.
- The qualifying process for the tournament will not be fully completed until the end of March next year.
- Argentina are the current holders of the FIFA World Cup following their victory against France in the final of the 2022 edition in Qatar.
