LIVE MATCH STREAMING  Chelsea play their final game of 2024 as they travel to Ipswich Town in a fixture that affects matters at both ends of the Premier League table. Enzo Maresca’s side will be aiming to return to winning ways after suffering a surprise defeat against west London rivals Fulham on Boxing Day. That result coupled with victories for Arsenal and Nottingham Forest means the Blues begin the day in fourth. They can, however, start the new year in second and seven points behind league leaders Liverpool with a win this evening. Ipswich also lost on Boxing Day and are without a home win all season. They will kick off at Portman Road knowing that victory will not be enough to get them out of the relegation zone but they can jump up to 18th and close to within a point of Wolves.  Chelsea XI: Plenty of rotation from Enzo Maresca this evening. Chelsea XI: Jorgensen; Disasi, Tosin, Colwill, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernandez (c); Madueke, Palmer, Joao Felix; Nkunku Substit...

Chelsea fans woke up to an unexpected loss at Stamford Bridge on boxing day.  The Blues were handed a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Fulham to lose the West London Derby on boxing day.  A stunning solo goal from Cole Palmer put the Blues in control as he broke the record for most goals scored in a calendar year for Chelsea (26). And Enzo Maresca's men played some scintilating football throughout the half without adding to their advantage. Levi Colwill saw his goal chalked off for offside early in the second half and that gave Fulham some hope as they pressed forward, as Harry Wilson produced the goods with a close-range header to equalise. The Blues paid the price for squandering some gilt-edged chances as substitute Rodrigo Muniz stunned the home crowd with a stoppage-time winner to earn Fulham their first win on Chelsea turf since 1979. For most of the game, Chelsea players were unbelievably sloppy, however,  three were evidently poor: Malo Gusto,  Levi Colwill a...

WATCH: Cole Palmer goal vs Fulham

Cole Palmer just opened the scoring for Chelsea and what a goal it was! It gives me the Eden Hazard vs West Ham United flashbacks!  HOW IT HAPPENED : The game was just beginning to find its rhythm when Cole Palmer, with a moment of individual brilliance or a clinical finish, managed to beat the Fulham goalkeeper and give Chelsea the lead. This early goal not only provided a massive confidence boost for the home side but also forced Fulham to rethink their strategy from the outset. Palmer's strike represents a welcome relief for Chelsea, who were left slightly frustrated after their previous draw. With this goal, the Blues are showing their intent to remain firmly in the fight for the top spots in the table. What better way to spend Boxing Day, AKA St Stephen’s Day, AKA 26 December, than glued to some flippant yet timely updates on today's 3pm kick-off (UK) at Stamford Bridge? Chelsea host Fulham in a London derby today, with the Blues looking to keep up the pressure on Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table. Enzo Maresca’s side missed the chance to briefly go top when they drew 0-0 to Everton last week, and they are now six points behind Liverpool, who have a game in hand. Though they insist they are not in a title race, Chelsea will know that three points today is vital to any hopes they may have, while it would also give them a huge advantage in the race for top four. And they face a Fulham side who have quietly creeped up the table in recent weeks, with four draws and a win from their last five matches. Marco Silva’s me...

"Dependable player." - Chelsea now ready to splash £75M cash on "clinical finisher" after Everton draw.

Chelsea are on the search for a clinical striker after Nicolas Jackson's wasteful display against the Toffees.  The Blues have identified Victor Osimhen as their top target to replace Nicolas Jackson.  So far, Osimhen has 12 goals and 4 assists in 15 games for Galatasaray. But his fine form will not help him in getting his place back at Napoli. In addition, they player is unwilling to stay at Turkey which increases his chances of landing at Chelsea.  According to Fichajes, both Chelsea have shown interest in the 25 year old. The Blues still rate Osimhen highly and are willing to sign him next year. Same has been the case for the Red Devils who are keen to improve their squad. Both clubs are willing to pay around €75 million and Napoli are happy to let the Nigerian leave. Nicolas Jackson has been in superb form this season. But, the Blues are still keen to add another striker. In addition, Nkunku is very likely to leave which will open up space. Osimhen will directly repla...

"They will cost you. Don't rely on them." Mikel Obi warns Enzo Maresca after two Chelsea stars cost Chelsea three points against Everton.

Chelsea Legend has voiced his displeasure over the performance of two Chelsea stars following their performance against Everton on Sunday.   Chelsea were held to a goalless draw at the Goodison park.  The Blues missed the chance to go top of the table and Chelsea Legend Mikel  Obi has called out two players he thinks cost Chelsea three points in the game. Obi thinks both players are not good enough. Enzo Maresca is cautioned by John Mikel Obi to sign a clinical striker in January after he attacks Nicolas Jackson . After squandering numerous opportunities, Nicolas Jackson cost Chelsea the three points, according to John Mikel Obi. "I'm proud of him." Enzo Maresca reveals he is proud of one Chelsea star despite goalless draw vs Everton.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca hailed the performance of defender Tosin Adarabioyo following the goalless Premier League draw at Everton on Sunday. The Blues went into the game on an eight-match winning streak in all competitions and they were considered favourites to beat the Toffees on the road. However, they lacked the cutting edge to find the back of the net and could have lost the game. Adarabioyo made a crucial goalsaving block in the 77th minute. Speaking after the draw, Maresca was impressed with his showing. The Italian told reporters: "Tosin was very good. All the players defensively were very good. Clean sheet, we don't concede. Happy for them." Adarabioyo signed for the Blues on a free transfer from Fulham last summer and he was a fringe player at the start of the campaign. However, his fortunes have changed in recent weeks with the injuries for Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile. Both are out for the long-term. The Englishman has capitalised on their absence w...

Chelsea have the chance to move to the top of the Premier League as they travel to face Everton at Goodison Park this afternoon. Victory would take the Blues above Liverpool by a point, at least until Arne Slot’s side face Tottenham later today, and should Spurs then avoid defeat, it will be Chelsea spending Christmas at the summit. Enzo Maresca continues to insist his side are not in the title race but they are on an eight-match winning run in all competitions and continue to impress. The Chelsea boss is forced into a reshuffle in defence, with Levi Colwill seemingly shifted over to left-back to cover for the suspended Marc Cucurella. Everton sit only three points clear of the relegation zone but their form has improved in recent weeks. Sean Dyche’s side held Arsenal to a goalless draw in north London last weekend, having thrashed Wolves before that. The Toffees are unbeaten in their last five home matches. VIDEO: The three crucial saves from Robert Sanchez that helped Chelsea win against Brentford.

Image
Robert Sanchez put on a dashing display against Brentford last night. The Chelsea stopper was crucial in the Blues' 2-1 victory against Brentford on Sunday evening.    Not only did he make some great saves but he was really proactive in the way he closed down attackers - almost playing a sweeper role. What really stood out  though was the huge improvement with his distribution. He always seemed to play the correct pass, he was calm under pressure and actually went long a couple of times when the short pass became too risky. Very mature performance overall, can't recall him putting a foot wrong in last night's game.  His 73rd minute save got a lot of fans talking! In 90 minutes on the pitch, Sanchez had a passing accuracy of 54% (19/35). He had a goal-prevention rate of 0.73 and registered two saves from inside the penalty box. Here are three crucial saves made by Robert Sanchez that kept Chelsea in the game vs Brentford:  WATCH VIDEO BELOW:

Marc Cucurella breaks silence after red card incident vs Brentford.

Image
Marc Cucurella has broken his silence after he was shown a red card after the full-time whistle following Chelsea's win over Brentford. The defender   was shown a second yellow card   after the Blues' 2-1 win over the Bees on Sunday. The Spaniard had earlier put his side ahead with a perfectly placed header in the first half. It  means the former Brighton & Hove Albion man will be missing for Chelsea's next league match , which is away at Everton next Sunday. The left-back has been one of Chelsea's better players this season and will be a big miss down the left hand side, with the 2-1 win over Brentford leaving the Blues just two points off leaders Liverpool. Taking to social media after the game, Cucurella posted a 12-word message on Instagram. Posting a picture of himself celebrating his goal, Cucurella said: "Good win at home to finish off the week! We go again." Maresca was asked about the red card incident  although the Italian did not appear to see...
